Premier Software, designed for universal access, is a unique program that offers a number of assistive devises to make
the world around us easier to access. Premier can be used both in schools and in the home.
Some of Premier's tools include the Universal Reader, Ulitmate Talking Dictionary, Talking Word Processor, E-Text
Reader, Scan and Read Pro, Text to Audio, PDF Magic Pro, and Talking Calculator. These tools are exceptionally functional
for the struggling student. With these tools students are able to access information on the Web that otherwise would be difficult
to utilize without a support person to read it to them.
One of Premier's most unique features is the Key to Access devise, a portable USB MP3 player. A student may take their
Key to Access to any computer that he or she may use. The software never needs to be installed on the computer. As well as
holding the assistive technology programs, the Key to Access also allows the user to dictate notes, record lectures,
and listen to them later with ear buds. The Key to Access has 1 gigabyte of memory, allowing the user to save his or her files.

I am excited to use this with my students, who are in 6th through 8th grades. Because I have
many students in my room at one time working on different things, this will allow them to use the Internet for their general
education research projects. Students will also utilize the Talking Word Processor to compose a published piece
of writing. The Talking WP will allow the student to listen to what they have typed and edit as necessary. With Premier they
will be able to listen to the text, stop it, and make notes or ask questions.
Not only will this program benefit my exceptional students, it will also benefit any other student
on campus. When my technology coordinator is able to download the program to the server, it will provide the universal access
to all students for whom it was designed.
